Greater Japanese Empire

Starting with the first successful invasion of Korea by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1592, the Japanese Empire continued to expand across East Asia through the 1600s and 1700s, slowly building its conquests and growing more and more powerful by the day. Finally, in 1782, as the Qing Dynasty began to grow shaky with Japan growing all around it, the Japanese successfully captured Beijing and ended the Manchu rule over China, carving out Manchukuo as part of its own domain and establishing a puppet Jiei Dynasty in Beijing. Even after 1782, Japan continued to expand, conquering the Philippines out from Spain while it was busy during the Napoleonic Wars in 1807, and conquering part of the Dutch East Indies. Since then, Japan has declared what it calls the "Yaban hito o tsuihō suru tame no meirei", the "Order to Expel the Barbarians", effectively declaring East Asia to be its personal sphere of influence against any European powers.

The Empire has grown dramatically. But it has no intention of stopping yet.
